The baptism of 'Fräiheetsrous, rosier de la Liberté' took place on 8 May 2015 in the Grand Ducal Palace, in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, and Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, as part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The rose 'Fräiheetsrous, rosier de la Liberté' is a moschata hybrid in pure white, bred by Jean-Lin Lebrun (Melarosa, France) and it was donated by 'Patrimoine Roses pour le Luxembourg' as a tribute to the dead of the Second World War and as a symbol of peace and solidarity.
